What to Say to a Dispatcher during a Suicide Emergency
Do not be afraid to talk to emergency services workers. Police officers, paramedics, and dispatchers are all trained to deal with these scenarios. Their job is to ensure the safety of the individual contemplating suicide and those around him or her.
When contacting an emergency service dispatcher, explain the situation as clearly as possible. Give them your current location or the location of the individual contemplating suicide. If you believe the individual contemplating suicide is a danger to yourself or others, first ensure you are in a safe location before calling emergency services.
